Adventures in Culinary School - Part 2
Another six weeks has flown by! Yesterday Foundations 2 wrapped up. We cooked cut potatoes, cooked rice, whipped eggs and stressed out. I can say that I cried out of frustration and refused to talk to anyone until I had calmed down. At the end of the day, I hugged our Chef and hoped to see him again. He had some unexpectedly nice things to say to me and I teared up. I'm gonna miss him, a lot.
This class really brought us into the basics and shot up like a rocket from there.
So many mother sauces.
So many stocks.
So many soups. SO MANY
So much butter. YUMMMMM
No really, SO MUCH BUTTER. Bacon too!
Veggies and grains and fruits and names and textures and reasons!
So much to put into my brain and practice.
So much fun.
Next week we start our baking courses with a lovely intro to baking class. Which means, time to buckle down on how I eat away from school and take a few extra steps a day.
Wish us luck!
Cheers!
