Going back to our vacation a little bit. Today we look back at our visits to Animal Kingdom!
This visit we really walked around a bit more and explored the park more. It was VERY relaxing.
We visited the trails again and rode the Safari. Both times we were stopped by Giraffes crossing. One of the occasions one just dead stopped and we had to wait for it to move along. The second time the entire herd started hauling ass in one direction across the trails, which was alarming to our guide. I'd guess that he was new-ish.
I was really happy to see that the entire poaching storyline was removed and there was more talk of awareness and how to help. I wasn't a fan of the sudden panic at the end of the safari.
We walked the trails and really sat and enjoyed the environments.
We encountered a few napping gorillas. This one was right up next to the glass.
I LOVE the prayer flags hung around this section of the park. I have a few in my kitchen and they always remind me of how lucky and amazing our life is.
After the trails we encountered a few dance parties. We stuck around a bit for the one in India.
In case you are not familiar with Animal Kingdom (AK), their layout is set in continents instead of lands. Disneyland had FantasyLAND, TomorrowLAND, etc; well, here they have Asia, Africa and India with DinoLand USA and Discovery Island. I'm sure there are more, so forgive me for the ones I have forgotten.
We explored around Expedition Everest for a while. Hands down one of my favorite attractions of any of the Disney Parks I've been to.
Last visit we watched the Festival of the Lion King, WHICH IS AMAZING. However this time around we saw the Finding Nemo stage show, again and Flights of Wonder! So many pretty birds. At the end they brought out my spirit animal. The Speckled Owl.
What is up?!
As always, I'm completely captivated by the parks icon, The Tree of Life. Lucky for me, I was allowed to drag everyone around so I could see as much of it as possible.
This park is amazing and I think I miss it the most. Counting the days until we return. Ahem*Oct 2014*Ahem
